Research content

Have different characteristics, the polymers have been utilized in everything around us. In our laboratory, we have developed new functional polymers and clarified the mechanism of such function of polymers. We have studied on high thermal conductivity polymers, polymer materials for optical networks, polymer electrolytes for the fuel cell, and rubber materials for the use under the high pressure hydrogen gas exposure etc. In addition, we have studied the mechanism of such functions of polymers from the viewpoints of their molecular structures, crystal structures, higher order structures, and electronic states, by using the experimental methods of small angle and wide angle x-ray diffraction and of vibrational spectroscopy, and by the theoretical methods of ab initio molecular orbital calculations.
