The system environments of the fluid machines are various. Fans, blowers, compressors, pumps and turbines are often used under unsuitable operating condition. This laboratory attempts to clarify the mechanisms of the flow instabilities induced in the fluid machines under such conditions, investigates the onset conditions including the cell number and develops techniques to control the flow instabilities by means of the circulation control wings and the synthetic jets.
