Mechanical Safety Design Laboratory
Nondestructive methods for Mechanical Safety
Supervisor
Masaru Ogawa: Associate Professor
This laboratory aims to improve safety and security in mechanical engineering. New nondestructive methods are invented and eveloped to predict remaining useful life of mechanical products. Three-dimensional welding residual stresses are estimated using X-ray diffraction. A nondestructive method to estimate inelastic strains using deformation has been proposed to evaluate the quality of the in turbine rotor blade.
