Some energy and resources are needed to refine aluminum from used cans, to make recycled paper and to manufacture fibers from plastic bottles. In our laboratory, we are researching the development of methods and technologies to realize effective recycling processes with less energy and resources. Moreover, we are also studying on “waste to energy” for a low carbon society.

Topics of research
  • Gasification and liquefaction of waste biomass
  • Metal recovery from waste circuit board by induction heating
  • Thermal energy recovery using fuel reforming reaction
