Organic compounds are indispendsable because they are used in many fields like pharmaceuticals, liquid crystals, and other applications in these days. Many methods for making them have been discovered in the past, but with the discovery of compounds with even better functions, it is necessary to further advance the methods of making them. To supply important compounds, superior reactions are needed. In our laboratory, we are working to find novel reactions utilzing α-diazoesters. In recent years, we have also been conducting research on the synthesis of "hybrid pharmaceuticals" that combine the structures of multiple bioactive compounds.

Topics of research
  • Heterocyclic Synthesis from α-diazo Ester
  • Development of highly efficient sequential reactions using copper salts
  • Synthetic study of hybrid pharmaceuticals
