Laboratory of Bioresource Chemistry

Exploration of microbial resources for industrial applications

Supervisor
Katsuhiko FUJII: Professor

Main topic in our research group is isolation, characterization, and industrial application of microbes contributing carbon cycle, such as cellulolytic and chitinolytic bacterial/fungal strains as well as microalgae producing biologically-active compounds. Not only pure strains but mixed culture (microflora) is also a recent target.
We welcome foreign students who enjoy to pursue MSc or PhD degreein our lab, the Graduate School of Engineering, Kogakuin University.

Topics of research
  • Microbial degradation of biomass
  • Production of biofuel
  • Microalgae producing bioactive chemicals
