Using IT and AI to solve problems in the social sciences

Supervisor
Isao YAGI: Professor

With the development of IT, it has become possible to tackle problems of human decision-making that were previously difficult to experiment with, such as society, economy, and culture. One of the solutions is social simulation. By using social simulations, we can quickly know the directions of solution methods for problems that we cannot imagine the impact of applied in the real world, or the directions of solution methods for problems that require a long time before the results are known. In our laboratory, we are working on solving problems in the social sciences, in particular, finance, economics, and social psychology.

Topics of research
  • A study of the impact of market regulations on the financial markets
  • An analysis of the mechanism of classroom community formation using a multi-agent system
  • An analysis of the effect of political regulations on macroeconomic models
